 Self-portrait, 2005 Just clicking around, I came to find out about kite aerial photography (KAP). An increasing number of hobbyists use KAP to generate low-level aerial photographs of the space around them- their backyards, local parks, vacation spots, etc. My favorite KAP images came to be the accidental self-portraits, the ones taken from odd angles as the wind forced the kite back down towards its caretaker, effortlessly tying the viewer and image maker into the same abstract space. -Sabrina Gschwandtner, 2006 |
